For our first blog post on Georgia Gems, we as a team wanted to formally introduce ourselves and give our audience a better idea of what we will each be doing on the website and our social media pages, as well as sharing our personal relationship with the state of Georgia.
My name is Audrey Hall, and I am pursuing a marketing degree and dance minor at Kennesaw State University. I will serve as the Agency Lead and Content Creator for “Uniquely Georgia.” While I am originally from Chicago, my family and I moved to beautiful Sweat Mountain years ago. I quickly fell in love with the mountainous views, gorgeous sunsets, and what I consider to be Georgia’s best kept secret! It has inspired my love for photography. I love exploring the North Georgia and Metro Atlanta areas because I find there are so many unique places to see! Some of my greatest experiences while living here have been discovering the hidden gems I did not realize were so close to home. What makes Georgia unique to me is its culture, gorgeous rolling hills, and welcoming feel no matter where you go. I hope this blog will inspire others to appreciate all the great places Georgia has to offer.
Hello, my name is Natalie Jackson! I am pursuing a marketing degree at Kennesaw State University. After I complete my undergraduate degree, I will be getting my Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of North Georgia. I will be the Website Manager as well as the Platform Manager for our Pinterest. I have studied abroad and been able to see the gorgeous beaches of the Pacific, rainforests, and Tuscan mountainsides, but I feel as though Georgia has some of the most breathtaking views. I am a travel enthusiast, but I think the greatest traveling experiences come from my own backyard, Georgia! Whether you are a tourist, new resident or have been a Georgia local for decades, I want to welcome you to our page and encourage you to take advantage of all the incredible places we show that Georgia has to offer!
Hello! My name is Anjelyn Roberts! I am a senior at Kennesaw State University and graduating this upcoming summer with a degree in business marketing. I will be the Content Manager for Georgia Gems, and I am also the Platform Manager for our Instagram. I grew up in Perry, Georgia and moved to Kennesaw, Georgia for college. I went to a small high school and I wanted to escape the small-town vibe and put myself out of my comfort zone. I grew up camping in North Georgia and traveling around the southeast US. After graduating high school, I got to travel to the West Coast and throughout Nevada and Arizona, and in recent years I have been to Colorado. I love seeing new places and finding new adventures to embark on, especially in the beautiful state of Georgia!
Hey everyone! My name is DeVaun Fore and I am a senior pursuing a degree in marketing at Kennesaw State University. I will oversee the SEO and Analytics for Georgia Gems’ website and social media platforms. Originally, I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii but I was raised in Marietta, Georgia for most of my life. Traveling is a new passion of mine and being able to visit other states and countries has provided me with a deeper admiration for my own state. I think being able to visit new locations is a great way to make new memories with friends and family. My hopes with this project are not only to show others the beauty that the state of Georgia has to offer, but also encourage them to strive to try new things and experiences!
Hello, my name is Matthew White, and I am pursuing degrees in both marketing and theatre at Kennesaw State University. I will act as the Editorial Manager of Georgia Gems, primarily overseeing the blog posts. I was born and raised in Savannah, GA and decided that KSU was the best college to help in my academic and career endeavors. I enjoy traveling and taking in the beauty of new and unique locations and certainly those within Georgia, but my favorite part of traveling is the time spent with my friends and family. I’m excited to be part of a project that will introduce others to some of the locations and sights that make Georgia unique and encourage them to experience them for themselves!
